The American leaves Carrow Road in a reported 20m switch to the MLS.

Lingard close to joining Corinthians

Your Site News' Pete Graves:

Jesse Lingard is on the brink of joining Brazilian giants Corinthians.

The former Manchester United and England International had been in discussions with numerous clubs since leaving FC Seoul in January.

Your Site News understands talks with Corinthians are now at an advanced stage, with the deal likely to be finalised in the next 24 hours.

Carrick responds to questions on Maguire future

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick says he hopes "there's a lot more to come" from Harry Maguire as he faced questions about the defender's contract situation.

Maguire is in the final year of his deal at Old Trafford and it is unclear at this stage what the future holds for the 32-year-old.

Stripped of the captaincy by Erik ten Hag, Maguire has overcome a lot of ups and downs at United but is now playing some of his best football under Carrick.

Harry's an impressive character," said Carrick. "He's had a great career so far and hopefully there's a lot more to come.

"I think in what he's been here and the journey and the experiences that he's had certainly since he's been here and with England as well I think show exactly what he is."

Gordon contract detail revealed amid Arsenal speculation

Exclusive from Your Site News' Keith Downie:

Newcastle have added security surrounding the future of Anthony Gordon with his contract set to expire in 2030.

Reports have suggested Arsenal will target the Newcastle forward in the summer transfer window and hope to sign Gordon for 75m.

The 25-year-old was said to have just two years remaining on his current contract at the club but Your Site News can exclusively reveal that deal will run until 2030, when Gordon will be 29.

Gordon signed a long-term extension at Newcastle in October 2024 and has four years remaining on that deal.

Howe comments on Gordon to Arsenal links

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says there is "no time for distractions" after Anthony Gordon was linked with a move to Arsenal.

Reports have suggested that Mikel Arteta's side will target Gordon in the summer and hope to land the forward for 75m.

Speaking ahead of Newcastle's game against Everton on Saturday, Howe was asked about the speculation surrounding Gordon and whether it would be distracting for him, where he said: "Only if you read it [distracting for Gordon].

"As always in this age, there is always rumour and speculation.

"I don't see 90 per cent of it. It comes with the territory of being a top player and you have to put it out of your brain to focus on football.

"There is no time for distractions."

Howe was then asked about how the club avoid another transfer saga such as the one prompted by Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool last summer.

Howe added: "There is not a lot I can do about that. It's news to me but we're midseason and in the middle of some of the biggest games of his career.

"He has no time to look left or right and has to be fully focused on ahead.

"He has been in a good place."

Gordon has previously commented on transfer rumours earlier in February and admitted it has distracted him in the past.

I am focused on me and focused on the team, I am focused on right now," he said.

"You look too far in the future and you start to underperform. And believe me, I have done that (before) and I am not going to do that now."

Paper Talk: Arsenal plot 75m Gordon move

Right, let's end this this evening with a quick roundup of some of the biggest stories making Friday's back pages, with Arsenal set to target Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon this summer - and they hope to land him for 75m, according to reports in the Sun.

Glasner: 'I've had 100-per-cent assurance' about my Palace future

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner says he has been guaranteed he will remain in charge at Selhurst Park till the end of the season.

The Austrian's future at Palace had come under scrutiny in recent weeks following a poor run of results which had seen the club fall down the Premier League standings.

However, speaking after Palace made it through to the last 16 of the UEFA Conference League by beating Zrinjski Mostar 3-1 aggregate, Glasner confirmed he will definitely be staying at the club.

"I've had 100-per-cent assurance [of staying on]," Glasner, who will leave Palace when his contract expires this summer,  told TNT Sports after the game.

"For me it's always number one is the players, the players believing in me and the staff - and that's the most important thing, otherwise you can pack your suitcase and go home.

"They have a great togetherness in the group, the staff and it's the same with the chairman and sporting director.

"They are sometimes wondering - it's the second-best Premier League season ever.

"The best was last year, so maybe the best two in Palace's history, playing European football for the first time, and there is so much noise so sometimes we really don't understand it.

"Maybe I gave some interviews which were not really helpful, I have to admit but I always say what I am feeling and sometimes it's positive, sometimes it's not so positive.

"That's Oliver Glasner, and in the end we are in a very good position in the league and now it's up to us with our fans to make a really good season of it."

Andrews: I've had to earn my stripes as Brentford boss

Keith Andrews says he is 'proud' to have signed a new six-year deal at Brentford, adding that new he had to prove himself.

He was the former set-piece coach under Thomas Frank, and took over from him when the Dane joined Spurs in the summer, with some questioning whether he was the right man for the job.

But his tenure so far has seen the Bees push for European football.

Im very proud, he said in quotes to the club's official media. It wasnt long ago that I was signing my first contract so, to be sat here however many months later, thats probably a good sign!

Its felt like its gone pretty quick, a lot has happened, but Im just really proud to get that real vote of confidence from Matthew Benham, Phil Giles, Lee Dykes and Ben Ryan.

Everyone knows that Im pretty privileged to be head coach of this amazing club, so to do that for lots and lots more years will be nice.

I did feel like I needed to earn my stripes.

Naturally, I think there would have been a slight concern - if I were living in Dublin looking at Thomas Frank leaving and the set-piece coach taking over, I probably would have been a little bit worried too! So, I really understood it.

I was always going to grasp the opportunity I was getting with both hands.

I wanted to be very humble about it, work really, really hard, and basically just prove to myself - more than anyone - that I was capable of doing this job to a level it needed to be.

Andrews pens new Brentford contract

Brentford manager Keith Andrews has signed a new contract until 2032.

He will remain at the Gtech for the next six years after replacing Thomas Frank in the top role in the summer.

It has been a successful season so far too. The Bees are pushing for European football, currently in seventh place - just five points from Chelsea in fifth.

When Keith accepted the job last summer, he signed a three-year contract, but the intention was always that wed review this at the earliest opportunity, said Brentford director of football Phil Giles.

Given our progress this season, Im really happy that we have agreed this extension within the first nine months.

Keith has done an outstanding job, the team are playing well and the things we thought we could be better at this season have all improved.

He is a really good fit for the club and the way we like to work, as he is able to bring the best out of both players and staff alike.

Everyone at Brentford will be pleased to hear that Keith will be with us for many years to come, and Im excited by what we can all achieve together in the coming seasons.

Sheff Wed sign Silcott-Duberry on a free

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Zain Silcott-Duberry on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old forward had been training with the club after leaving Olympiacos.

Silcott-Duberry - who played once for Bournemouth in the Premier League - has joined the Owls on a contract until the end of the season.
